I Used to Be Very Anti-Emoticon

I thought they were silly.

"I'm a writer," I thought. "I'm going to use real words."

I was young and so foolish.

Now I am old and tired of typing out words.

There is so much more depth and sophistication to emoticons now than just a smiley face. I can convey nearly every emotion. If I could type this email using emoticons I definitely would.

Now I mostly communicate using emoticons.

Both in writing and speaking.

My wife asks me a question. I arrange my face for the appropriate response.

She understands.

We go on with our day.
