We Can Use Hot Water and Oven at Same Time

Since moving into our new house, we've been struggling with our potencia.

The potencia refers to our "contracted power" which is the maximum amount of electricity we can use at any one time. Until now, if we wanted to use the washer or the oven we'd have to unplug the hot water heater and make sure not to use any other appliances.

And don't even think about having the television on while you use the oven.

That's insane.

But after many months, paperwork from the lampista (aka electrician), and countless emails and phone calls, we can now bake a cake and run washer at the same time.

I'm crying as I write this.

We've made it, folks, we've made it.
