Why Am I Not Fluent in Spanish?

I've been studying for a few months now.

But I still can't understand what people are saying to me. I've been doing Babbel app almost every day. Sometimes I watch Paw Patrol in Spanish with my son.

I should be able to talk more in Spanish than I do. have no idea what's going on around me. Sure, I can ask for a beer and olives and chips in Spanish, but when I want to talk about other things, like how attractive Javier Bardem is, or one a scale of one to ten what my chances are of meeting Javier, or do you know where Javier lives and what is his mobile number, I can't seem to do it.

I don't even know how to swear in Spanish.
